What is a pending transaction?
Pending transactions are payments that are still being processed by the merchant. While the amount is deducted from your Available balance, it hasn't yet been fully transferred to the merchant. These transactions may take a few days to settle.
During this period, the transaction amount might be adjusted—for example, if a tip is added at a restaurant or if the merchant modifies the charge. A merchant can also cancel or allow a pending transaction to expire before it settles. If this happens, the funds will be returned to your Available to Spend balance.
Can I stop pending transaction from processing?
Unfortunately, once a transaction is initiated and marked as pending, B9 cannot intervene to stop it. The processing and finalization of the transaction are controlled by the merchant's bank and the payment network.
How long does it take for a transaction to complete?
The time it takes for a transaction to complete can vary. Generally, transactions are settled within a few days, depending on the merchant and their processing practices. Once settled, the transaction will appear as "completed" in your account, and the amount will be deducted from your available balance.
How soon will a pending hotel or rental vehicle charge be released?
Hotel and car rental merchants commonly place holds on your account to cover potential charges such as damage deposits. After your stay or rental ends, it may take up to seven days for hotels and up to 30 days for car rental companies to finalize and settle the transaction.
If the hold remains longer than expected, it’s recommended to contact the merchant directly for clarification.
